A warm welcome everyone to the Seal Research Project Ireland site. I will be posting blog updates for my research project as well as just interesting and related blogs around seals. This great project on grey and harbour seals around Ireland and western Europe is currently funded by GMIT and NPWS. You can learn more about the project on this site, and meet the team :) You can also read about Irish seals and how to distinguish between grey and harbour seals and even submit your own sightings! Submitting your sightings will actually be hugely beneficial to us as we will learn where seals are and we can use that data to investigate habitat use. It is very important when submitting sightings that we know where exactly you have seen seals and which species you have seen. If you are unsure of which species you have observed, check the identification criteria here and/or make sure that you put unknown seal species in the form.
